50 for $50K Viral Campaign a Massive Success

Swipe through to see the 100+ businesses and influencers who used their platforms and reach to help us share Namahana’s story far and wide.

Mahalo to the Namahana Kaiāulu for sharing our story, and to the generous donor whose $50,000 gift makes this dream one step closer to reality.

A special mahalo nui loa to Mike from
Oliver Design Studios, whose time and dedication made it possible to recognize our community in this way. 🌺

Last week, we ran a unique Instagram campaign: we asked local businesses or influencers to share a post. If 50 did, a very generous donor would gift Namahana $50,000 towards building our permanent middle school classrooms. Thanks to the support of the community, we easily flew by that goal of 50 posts, gained over 167,000 views, and secured the $50,000 match. The students were especially excited to hear that professional athletes such as surfers Kelly Slater, Alana Blanchard, Jack Freestone, Malia Manuel, and Sebastian Zietz shared Namahana’s story.  As well as LA Dodger Kirby Yates, kickboxer Dustin Aiwohi-Barca,  SUP boarder Mariko Stricklad Lum, and racer Terry Madden.

We are grateful for the unbelievable support from the community and local businesses.  Mahalo for spreading Namahana’s story far and wide. Now, the work continues. Click though to our site for more info on how you can contribute to building Namahana School’s permanent classrooms.
