Namahana Receives Second Round of Funding from NewSchools Venture Fund

For the second straight year, Namahana School has received national funding from NewSchools Venture Fund (NSVF). Founded by Kim Smith, Brook Byers, and John Doerr (Kleiner Perkins, early venture capitalist for Amazon and Google), NSVF is a venture philanthropy that invests in the ideas and energy of education leaders and entrepreneurs who are advancing innovative solutions that expand the definition of what works.

NSVF is well respected for their community-based and rigorous due diligence, which evaluates teams against a full set of investment criteria. As an Innovative School recipient, Namahana’s funding is centered on launching a new innovative public school that support students to develop a strong academic foundation and skills needed for success in life and modern career opportunities.

Beyond funding, NSVF also supports Namahana with comprehensive and customized management assistance, designed to empower Namahana to grow and thrive in the long-term.

We are grateful for this honorable funding and support from NSVF!
