Kumu Erika Sakamoto 
(7th Grade)

Born and raised on Kauaʻi, Erika Sakamoto brings nearly three decades of rich classroom experience and a deep commitment to student growth to our team. A proud graduate of Kauaʻi High School, she has dedicated her career to culture-based education, literacy, and supporting students across multiple grade levels on the island. With a versatile background that includes teaching English Language Arts at Chiefess Kamakahelei Middle School and Social Studies at Kauaʻi High School, Kumu Sakamoto is uniquely equipped to guide middle schoolers.

Kumu Anuhea Nakahara Piliere (9th Grade)

Anuhea Nakahara Piliere was raised in Kīlauea and holds a Master’s in Education Technology and a Bachelor’s in Studio Art & Business. Anuhea brings over 11 years of teaching experience from Kamehameha Schools Kapālama high school. Anuhea served as the Distance Education Student Success Coach for University of Hawaiʻi (based here on Kauaʻi) as the primary bridge for high school students, guiding their educational journeys and ensuring their personal interests align with their academic goals.
