Allison Soo Eun Lee Young

Bachelor of Science, Family Studies, University of Maryland

Allison was born in Seoul, Korea and grew up in the Washington, DC area. She has worked in various community health roles as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Armenia, environmental health advocate, Community Health Worker, certified massage therapist, and Public Information Officer at the Frederick County Health Department in Maryland.  Allison has a Bachelor of Science, Family Studies, from the University of Maryland

She moved to Kauaʻi in 2020 and currently works in Communications and Public Relations at Kauaʻi Island Utility Cooperative educating members about cooperative principles, renewable energy, and emergency preparedness. She is an alum of Leadership Kauaʻi and received an academic subject certificate in Hawaiian Studies from Windward Community College.

As a Namahana parent and governing board member, Allison is excited to support students as they gain wisdom from their place and culture while learning how to navigate the wider world and new technology. She enjoys spending time with her ʻohana at the beach, camping and hiking, playing piano and learning more about the ʻāina and history of Kauaʻi. She is grateful to live here and have the opportunity to serve on the board.
