Prior to joining Namahana, Sarah served as Operations Manager at Common Ground in Kīlauea and as Program Director of the Common Ground Incubator, a business development program supporting early-stage food entrepreneurs on Kauaʻi. In this role, she led program strategy and implementation, supported small business growth, and cultivated partnerships across the island’s agricultural and entrepreneurial communities. Following graduation, she co-founded a nonprofit initiative in Cameroon focused on expanding microfinance access, organic agriculture education, and women’s empowerment. She relocated to Kīlauea in 2013 to support the launch of a new school, where she quickly developed a deep understanding of the operational realities and opportunities of early-stage educational organizations.
Deeply committed to supporting community work, Sarah currently serves as President of the Kīlauea Neighborhood Association and Treasurer of the Hanalei Hawaiian Civic Club. She is a Leadership Kauaʻi alumna and a proud member of Hālau Hula o Keʻalalauaʻeomakana.
