Namahana School Secures Water Rights For Permanent Site
We’re proud to announce another milestone: We secured water for Namahana School’s permanent site!
Though we now own the 11.3 acres that Namahana School will sit on, we needed to apply for water rights with the Department of Water (DOW). Getting the water rights wouldn’t have been possible without the community. We received and presented over 100 letters of support, 96 of which were handwritten letters from Namahana School students.
North Shore Preserve Donates Landscaping Services for Namahana’s Permanent Site
North Shore Preserve (NSP) has stepped up to support Namahana School! NSP will be taking care of mowing our permanent land for us, resulting in significant monthly cost savings. Additionally, they donated furniture to help fill our classrooms, and overall have been dedicated supporters of advancing Namahana’s mission. Mahalo to North Shore Preserve for supporting the community!
Namahana to Open Temporarily at Former Kula School Campus, Winning Valuable Breathing Space in Tight Construction Timeline
Thanks to more than 180 individuals and ‘ohana who supported our community fundraising campaign this summer, we’re thrilled to announce that we have raised the funds necessary to move into the engineering and fabrication phase for our future middle school facilities! Given our extremely tight construction timeline of less than 10 months before opening day, Namahana School leadership have chosen to temporarily lease the Kula School campus in Waipakē for its first year.
