Ashlee Price joins Namahana School as a Kumu, bringing more than 15 years of experience in personalized, data-driven, and culturally responsive education across classroom and home-based settings. Since 2022, she has worked as a private educator on Kauaʻi, designing fully customized, multi-grade, multi-subject learning plans that weave together academics, social-emotional learning, executive functioning, and experiential ʻāina-based activities tailored to each student's strengths and family goals.
Before returning to Kauaʻi, Ashlee spent seven years as a K–8 Teacher and Curriculum Specialist with the Chicago Park School District in California, differentiating instruction for diverse learners, serving on district curriculum adoption committees, and leading school-wide professional learning communities centered on reflective practice and strength-based instructional improvement. She was recognized as Teacher of the Year in 2019. Alongside her classroom role, she spent four years as an Educator Mentor with NCSOS and BCOE, coaching new teachers through goal-setting and instructional improvement cycles and building partnerships among teachers, families, and administrators.
Ashlee holds a Bachelor of Arts in Liberal Studies from UMass Global, along with a Multiple Subject Teaching Credential, a Special Education Credential for Grades 6–12, and an English Language Learner Authorization. She brings additional training in Responsive Classroom, Universal Design for Learning, SEL and trauma-informed practices, and neurodivergent-intensive instruction, alongside deep experience coordinating Response to Intervention frameworks and progress monitoring for diverse learners. A graduate of Kapaʻa High School herself, she returns to Kauaʻi's classrooms with a personal connection to the community she serves.
